36 Hours in KL

RANT: OMG, is this what you call broadband high-speed internet access in Malaysia? Streamyx is so pathetic. I totally feel handicapped here without the speed I desire; I am simply frustrated beyond all recognition...GAH!

Petronas Twin Towers, MalaysiaJust came back from a fun filled 36-hour trip in KL. Other than stuffing myself silly with food, more food, and even more food, the highlight of the trip was the mini food bloggers gathering at Makansutra, Sri Hartamas. It was a night filled with great fun, laughter, random and intoxicating (intoxicated?) yaks, scrumptious food, free flowing booze, and wonderful company.

Kuala Lumpur Train Station, MalaysiaFinally, I met the pleasant Audrey Cooks, the gracious Babe in the City and family, the infamous famous Backstreet Gluttons, the sunny Jackson Kah, the celebrated Fat Boy Bakes, the mysterious new flogger Lyrical Lemongrass, the legendary Masak-Masak, the sweetie-pie Teckiee, the charming Unkaleong, and the bubbly WMW.

Wong Ah Wah Chicken Wings, Jalan AlorI also had my fix of Wong Ah Wah chicken wings, my favorite shellfish, and lots of great eats.

ClamsMy trip to KL couldn't have been better. 36 hours in KL. New friendships are formed.

It was a pleasure and honor meeting you all. Thank you so much.

P.S.: Special thanks to Audrey, Boolicious, Team BSG, and WMW for organizing (and participating) in my eating and singing adventures. Many thanks to Fat Boy Bakes for the best Tiramisu ever.

Xiu Long Bao - I think the speed is unpredictable, sometimes jammed sometimes OK. I also got disconnected when I was half way writing the post!

Teckiee - pleasure meeting you too...you're the sweetest of the lot!! How's the cheek? :P

Lemongrass - Thanks for your first comment. Sure...let me know when you are in LA.

Boo - will try the next time, my trip back to Malaysia is always hectic!

Babe - yay, yes, it was me who initiated the gathering, but you guys should meet often even when I am away! ;)

Unka - Sure...you will know when I come back again! I will announce it on my blog! LOL!

MeiYen - yes, too bad you didn't show up. Next time please.

FBB - OK, I stay longer and you bake 4 cakes, can? Yeah, I terforget about Jackon and he merajuk, so I quickly added him to the list. :P

PE - I will post more pictures today. We take things for granted in the US...the broadband there is really like lightning speed. ;)

Tummythoz - Boo. Yap drove us by your office the other day. Next time must come, no excuse! :P

Claude - I will post more KL pictures...and we can compare notes. :)

Pablo - send an email to Babe and ask her to notify you of future gatherings.

BSG - who is the brunette?

Audrey - I think only Penang people hantu for balitong. I ate them in a flash (100% success rate in sucking the flesh out).

Jackson - sorry again! ;)

Al - really? I think the speed is sometimes OK sometimes jammed. It depends on the neighborhood you are in I guess. I used my sister's and her neighborhood is old, so old pipe?

Tiga - very cheap and soooo good. Next time you can ditch Singapore and come for some real hawker food in Malaysia. I bet you will appreciate it. Hehe.
